Whilst it may technically still be summer, we’re definitely feeling those cooler seasons creep up on us far too early this year. Dark, rainy days, looming grey clouds and a whole lot of brown trench coats and chunky boots are surfacing everywhere in the UK this August, and it’s the cue we’ve been looking for to start investing in next season’s top trends. Some of you may be holding onto your sweet mini dresses and airy linen numbers for a while longer, but we’re accepting Britain’s dreary fate and heading straight back to the vintage florals, winter animal prints and autumnal shades of brown. 

It’s ritual for new trends to be pushed forward ahead of time to get our shopping baskets ready ahead of the next season. But, whilst our staple shirts and trenches have just had a leathery makeover with punk fashion also making an overdue return, it's those recycled trends that we're keeping our eyes on so we can rewear some of our favourite pieces from last year. We're welcoming back black, with utility shades of khaki, brown and beige, and our animal print dresses still going strong for the season ahead. And those summertime florals are having an exciting vintage glow-up for the cooler months. Warehouse have had a knock-out fashion year, with their influencer-loved Shrimps collaboration and Laura Jackson Curates line both proving to be hugely popular. And now they’ve teamed up with influencer Camille Charriére to gear us up for autumn.

Florals are no longer restricted to the sunnier months, as they’ve proved to be a year-round pattern that never fade out of bloom. But it’s no longer about the ditsy daisies, as vintage roses and large petal prints are about to put down their roots for the foreseeable. 

What was thought to be a style that wouldn’t last past winter has ended up being one of the biggest trends of the year. Leopard, zebra, snake and even cow prints have hit the homerun as they loop back from summer into the cooler months. Just remix them with unexpected colour for a new season update.

It's back to black as we near the chillier seasons, and we're not complaining. After a bright summer with the likes of neon shades and pastel hues, we're looking forward to jumping back into our darker pieces that we love and missed, and they're even better when they come in cord and faux leather.
